Nerdcore Top 10
The true strength of nerdcore lies in the nigh-nonexistent barrier between fan and artist, it lies in the camaraderie we paradoxically share as outcasts, and it lies in the manner in which these two elements combine so as to ensure that the lines of communication are perpetually open. I’d like to use this particular feature to aid me in a very special project.
All I ask is your input concerning the Top 10 Nerdcore Hip-Hop Artists of All Time.
(Okay, so maybe “of All Time” actually translates into “So Far,” but that makes for a far less compelling title.)
You can chime in right here, at the related thread over at Rhyme Torrents, at the blog, or (if you’d prefer to vote all private-like) via private message.
As many of the more conscious amongst you have already noted, it is currently Wednesday, April 11th. I will be actively accepting lists, through any of those channels, until next Wednesday, April 18th. After that time I will begin to weigh the collected data, and I will post the results the following week.
Concerning individual parameters, I say follow your gut. Are you measuring importance based on impact, talent, artistic output, originality, or some amalgam of all of the above? It’s up to you. Who is and who is not “nerdcore enough” to warrant inclusion? That’s up to you too. Will the list include simply MCs, or DJs and producers as well? Also your call.

All choices are based on a complicated system of criteria, i.e. whoever makes my head bop or does an awesome job at repping Nerdcore or both
